I was a fan of Elmhurst’s Sugar Club since long before its recent relaunch. Back when it was a video store with a prepared food counter it was a source for everything from miang kana to Lays Thai potato chips and still is. These days I enjoy a breakfast plate that I like to call the Thai grand slam along with one of the more decadent takes on sticky rice around.
With its snazzy expanded digs and monthly food market, I like to think of Sugar Club as something like the Thai version of Roberta’s, but with less cheese and less beards. I’m holding out for a Thai tasting menu a la Blanca. In the meantime I will have to content myself with their newly launched Youtube channel. This recipe for Thai eggs with green curry look so easy even I could make it.
